Texas abortion ban to remain in place until arguments, Supreme Court rules

The Supreme Court will hear arguments against Texas's six-week abortion ban on Nov. 1, allowing the law to remain in place for now.

The Texas attorney general asked the Supreme Court to allow the law to remain in place while it is being challenged despite the Department of Justice's emergency request that the court block the law while its constitutionality is under consideration.

The court will also hear a case against a Mississippi abortion law this term.
