Shankh Air, UP’s first scheduled Airline gets approval from Civil Aviation Ministry

New Delhi: India’s newest airline, Shankh Air, is all set to fly high. It has got the approval from the Civil Aviation Ministry to operate in the country as the first scheduled airline from Uttar Pradesh. Motive behind starting the new service is to connect major cities across India, offering both interstate and intrastate routes and strengthening Uttar Pradesh’s initiative towards improving air connectivity.

Sharvan Kumar Vishwakarma, Shankh Air chairman has discussed about the strategic direction of the airline with the Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu in June. Before that the co-founders have met Noida International Airport CEO Christoph Schnellmann and COO Kiran Jain.

According to the airline’s website, it embraces the motto ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ which translates to ‘The World Is One Family.’ It will operate as a full-service carrier with Twin Class service that caters to various passenger needs. It will be the first scheduled carrier from Uttar Pradesh and will be hub over Lucknow and Noida to facilitate connections between all the major cities of India. The staff selection process will be start very soon.

However the airline Is yet to get clearance from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) before officially starting the service.
