Watch: Indian team returns to hotel as Day 2 of Kanpur Test delayed due to rain

The Indian team has decided to return to their hotel as Day 2 of the second Test against Bangladesh has been delayed by heavy rain in Kanpur on Saturday, September 28.

The Indian cricket team has decided to leave the Green Park stadium on Saturday, September 28 and return back to their hotel as Day 2 of the Kanpur Test has been delayed due to heavy rain in the city. The weather conditions haven't been favourable from Day 1 of the match as the game had a dealyed start due to overnight rain. As soon as lunch was called on Friday, the covers had to come on as rain returned, causing a further delay.

A total of 35 overs was only bowled on Day 1 as rain washed out play on Friday after the lunch break, calling for early stumps. The situation didn't improve on Saturday as there was a delayed start due to rain with the covers enveloping the entire ground. Both teams were seen inside their respective dressing rooms as the broadcasters revealed that the first session of Day 2 was completely washed out. This has now forced the Indian team to return to the comfort of their hotel as it seems like we may not get a lot of action on Saturday.

Will rain continue to be the villain in Kanpur Test?

While Day 2 has been heavily affected by rain in Kanpur, things are expected to improve in the coming days. According to accuweather, there is some early showers expected on Sunday, but things will improve on Monday and Tuesday. The chances of rain will significantly decrease on Day 4 and Day 5.
