Former India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar hailed youngsters Rachin Ravindra and Sarfaraz Khan for their heroics in the Bengaluru Test match. Sachin took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Saturday morning after Sarfaraz Khan had scored his stunning hundred.

Sarfaraz's century neutralised Rachin Ravindra's knock on Day 2 of the Bengaluru Test match, where he had piled on runs against the hosts. Sachin said that cricket had a way to connect players to their roots and Ravindra was one of the best examples of it.

"Cricket has a way of connecting us to our roots. Rachin Ravindra seems to have a special connection with Bengaluru, where his family hails from! Another century to his name. And Sarfaraz Khan, what an occasion to score your first Test century, when India needed it most! Exciting times ahead for both these talented youngsters," Sachin Tendulkar tweeted on Saturday, October 19.

Sarfaraz Khan's scored a stunning century in the second innings of the Bengaluru Test match. Sarfaraz led India's fightback on Saturday, October 19, continuing his sensational batting form in the 1st Test match against New Zealand. Sarfaraz was hailed for his sensational century by the fans, who sang laurels about his incredible grit.

The batter hit a stroke-filled century in Bengaluru and helped India completely wipe out the massive 350+ run lead taken by the New Zealand team. The Mumbai batter was dismissed for a three-ball duck in the first innings and made the necessary amends and came out all guns blazing in the second. He came into the match after scoring a match-winning double hundred in the Irani Trophy and continued his terrific form.

In the 57th over, Sarfaraz hit a boundary off Tim Southee's delivery and the batter had his hands aloft while running with the bat held high. He took his helmet off and showed the bat towards the dressing room. This was only the 22nd instance of an Indian batter registering a duck and a hundred in the same Test. Shubman Gill was the most recent one, as he scored a duck followed by a century against Bangladesh in Chennai.
