  • The shoot schedule was extended from 75 to 102 days
  • The film, set in Uttar Pradesh, performed poorly at the box office

Director and actor Tigmanshu Dhulia, in a recent interview, shared how the shoot schedule of his 2013 film Bullett Raja went far beyond what was planned due to several challenges. He also shared that Saif Ali Khan, who played the lead in the film, was not punctual, which also affected the shoot.

Talking about his experience, Dhulia told Mashable India, "The experience was very good. It could have been better if I had more time. The shoot was scheduled for 75 days, but it finished in 102 days. I was under a lot of pressure."

Dhulia shared what went wrong and said, "We were shooting during winters so we would get less daylight. Saif wouldn't come on time. Otherwise, the experience was good."

The director, who has made films like Haasil, Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster and Paan Singh Tomar, also added that he wants actors to surrender to him when collaborating. “I want that when an actor works with me, they should be my friend. They should just surrender. They shouldn’t come with their baggage, or any kind of arrogance. When they surrender, it is easier,” he said.

Bullett Raja also featured Sonakshi Sinha and Jimmy Sheirgill, apart from Khan, and was set in Uttar Pradesh, focusing on the mafia and political nexus in the state. Vidyut Jammwal, Chunky Pandey, Ravi Kishan, Gulshan Grover, and Raj Babbar played supporting roles. The film received negative reviews from critics and didn’t perform well at the box office. Since then, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Saif Ali Khan haven't collaborated on any projects.
