Citadel Honey Bunny trailer X reactions: Fans love Varun-Samantha's James Bond era

The trailer of Citadel: Honey Bunny received wide appreciation from fans on social media. The Varun Dhawan and Samantha-starrer spy series by the Russo Brothers impressed the audience.

Prime Video unveiled the trailer of Citadel: Honey Bunny on Tuesday, October 15 at a grand event in Mumbai. Directed by Raj & DK of The Family Man fame, the series stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha as spies, in the most action-oriented roles they have done so far. The series focusses on action with comedy and that's probably what impressed the audience in the trailer. Several social media users took to X to express how the trailer looked entertaining and exciting.

The fans gave a special thumbs up to Varun and Samantha's fresh pairing, and them performing some James Bond-style action. One social media user even went on to call Samantha the official 'Lady James Bond' while appreciating her performance in the trailer.

While Samantha plays the role of a single mother, Varun essays an orphan, who is brought up with the aim of serving the country by joining a spy agency. An X user celebrated Varun's "action era" and wrote, "Varun in his Action era!! Let's go!!! What a bomb trailer (sic)." Another user praised the makers for preparing a fantastic trailer, and wrote, "This looks CRAZIER than the other citadels (sic)."

Citadel: Honey Bunny is the Indian part of the Russo Brothers' global spy universe. The first part of the universe included Priyanka Chopra playing a spy named Nadia. In the second part now, Samantha's character has a daughter named Nadia, and it was revealed at the trailer launch that this is the same girl who grows-up to become Priyanka's Nadia in the Citadel universe.

The show boasts a stunning supporting star cast with the likes of Saqib Saleem, Kay Kay Menon, Sikander Kher, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parishar and Kashvi Majmundar playing important roles.

The series is written by Sita R Menon, along with Raj & DK. It is produced by D2R Films, Amazon MGM Studios, and executive produced by the Russo Brothers’ AGBO. Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, and Scott Nemes from AGBO, alongside David Weil (Hunters), executive produce Citadel: Honey Bunny and all series within the world of Citadel. Midnight Radio is also an executive producer.

The series is set to premiere on Prime Video on November 7.
