Three hotels in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati receive bomb threats via email

Three hotels in Andhra Pradesh's temple district of Tirupati received bomb threats via email. The email's subject line had 'TN CM involved'. The threatening email claimed the bomb was in response to arrest of drug kingpin Jaffer Sadiq.

Three hotels in the temple area of Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati district received bomb threats via emails. Responding to the threats, police and sniffer dogs conducted thorough searches at the hotels, which confirmed that the threat was a hoax.

Three private hotels in Leela Mahal, Kapila Theertham and Alipiri areas received threats through emails on Thursday evening. The subject line of the threatening email read: "Pak ISI to activate Improvised EDs in listed hotels, Evacuated by 11PM! TN CM involved." The emails were sent to a few hotels on Thursday, October 24, 2024, around 5.30 pm.

The police were investigating to find the source of the threats.

The email said that "international pressure" had mounted due to the arrest of Jaffer Sadiq and that "such blats (sic) in schools are necessary to divert the attention away from M.K Stalin family's involvement in the case."

Jaffer Sadiq, a former DMK functionary was arrested in February this year, for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking in Tamil Nadu.
