Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan on Monday voiced deep concern over the recent attack on a Hindu temple by pro-Khalistan elements in Canada's Brampton and called on the international community to acknowledge and address the suffering of Hindus with the same urgency and commitment it offers others.

"Today's attack on a Hindu temple and on Hindus in Canada strikes at the heart, sparking both anguish and alarm. It is my fervent hope that the Canadian government takes immediate, decisive steps to ensure a safe and secure environment for the Hindu community there," Kalyan wrote in a post on X.

"This is not merely a plea for compassion but a call for action. A call for the world to acknowledge and address the suffering of Hindus with the same urgency and commitment it offers others. Humanity cannot afford selective compassion — let us stand united, with unwavering resolve, against the persecution of any community, anywhere," he said.

On Sunday, protests erupted outside the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton, where demonstrators carrying Khalistani flags clashed with other people. Unverified videos circulating on social media captured scenes of tension, with protestors holding banners supporting Khalistan.

Some videos also showed fist fights and people striking each other with flagpoles on what appeared to be the grounds surrounding the temple.

The actor-turned-politician also pointed out the global vulnerability of the Hindu community, emphasising how they often face violence and discrimination with little attention or solidarity from the international community.

"It pains me deeply to see our Hindu brothers and sisters enduring persecution, violence, and unimaginable suffering in places like Pakistan, Afghanistan, and recently, Bangladesh. Hindus are a global minority, and as such, they receive little attention, little solidarity, and are easily targeted. Every act of hatred, every instance of abuse against them is a blow to all who cherish humanity and peace," he said.

The Jana Sena chief's remarks also included a direct appeal for international intervention, stressing that such attacks on Hindu community should not be dismissed as isolated incidents.

"Across various countries, acts of violence and targeted hatred against Hindus persist, yet the silence from global leaders, international organisations, and the so-called "peace-loving" NGOs is deafening. Where are the voices of outrage? Where is the solidarity for Hindus? Why are we left alone to confront this injustice?, Kalyan asked.

The attack on the Hindu temple sparked widespread outrage, including a sharp response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He condemned the "cowardly attempts" to intimidate Indian diplomats posted in Canada.
