Jadeja gave glimpses of his best after he picked up six wickets in the first two Tests in Bengaluru and Pune. But it was in Mumbai that Jadeja gave an account of his potential. He got the wicket of Will Young, who scored 71 off 138, to open his account. Thereafter, he made quick inroads into the Kiwis’ batting unit with the wickets of Tom Blundell, Glenn Phillips, Ish Sodhi and Matt Henry.

Mitchell was looking good for a hundred, but he got out after scoring 82 runs off 129 balls with three fours and as many sixes. Washington Sundar lent Jadeja support by picking up four wickets.
