by Auto Today · India TodayHero MotoCorp, the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, unveiled a range of highly-anticipated new motorcycles and an electric scooter at the EICMA 2024. The homegrown two-wheeler giant also announced its plans to enter the UK and European markets by the second half of 2025. The company showcases its premium range of new and existing internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) products, which include the Surge S32, FIM world championship-winning adventure machine, Hero 450 Rally and other electric concepts.
In terms of new motorcycles, Hero took the wraps off the Xpulse 210, Xtreme 250R and Karizma XMR 250. As the name suggests, the Xpulse 210 is powered by a 210cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC motor which produces 24.5bhp and 20.4Nm of torque. It has 220mm of ground clearance while front and rear suspension sit at 210mm and 205mm, respectively. The aforementioned engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper and assist clutch. Hero’s also equipped it with switchable ABS modes and a 4.2-inch TFT instrument cluster.
Apart from this, there was the Xtreme 250R, which gets an aggressive design language all around and is a naked offering, much like its smaller capacity siblings. It’s powered by a 250cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC motor with four valves; churning out 30bhp and 25Nm of torque. The 250R gets a trellis frame, USD front suspension, six-step adjustable rear monoshock as well as radial tyres. Furthermore, there are switchable ABS modes, LED projector headlamps with DRLs, turn-by-turn navigation with music control and 50-50 weight distribution.
Hero also decided to up the ante with the Karizma XMR 250. It gets the same engine as the Xtreme 250R, but is different from a design aspect, given the fairing. It also gets height-adjustable clip-on handlebars and race-inspired winglets. Other than this, its feature list remains similar to that of the Xtreme 250R. Last but certainly not least, there was the VIDA Z, which is a brand-new electric scooter with a completely different design language. Its modular architecture can accommodate a range of battery capacities, starting from 2.2kWh and going up to 4.4kWh battery pack.
Moreover, it gets the same multiple modes of charging, removable battery, and connected features through the MY VIDA app. The vehicle will be equipped with a connectivity suite and cloud platform. This new platform will allow the owners to monitor the vehicle's health, theft or movement detection, geofencing, immobilize the vehicle in case of unauthorised usage and perform Over the Air (OTA) updates without the need to visit a service station. In terms of features, it will get a touch-enabled TFT display.
