A 16-year-old was fatally stabbed by his friend in Delhi after he refused to throw a party to celebrate his new mobile phone purchase. The police have detained three boys in connection with the case.

The victim, identified as 16-year-old Sachin, was a resident of Shakarpur. On the evening of September 23, around 7 pm, Sachin had just bought a new mobile phone and was returning home when he encountered a group of acquaintances near a snack shop.

Upon seeing the new phone, the boys demanded a party from Sachin, which he declined.

This refusal led to a heated argument, which soon escalated into a physical altercation.

During the scuffle, one of the boys pulled out a knife and stabbed Sachin twice from behind. Sachin collapsed at the scene, and the assailants fled.

Bystanders immediately alerted the police and Sachin was rushed to a nearby hospital. The teenager succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital.

The police have registered a murder case and launched an investigation. With the help of CCTV footage, they identified and detained the three accused minors. The knife used in the attack was recovered from their possession.

Since the accused are juveniles, the police are proceeding under the Juvenile Justice Act.
