OnePlus has begun rolling out the OxygenOS 15 update for its flagship OnePlus 12, well before its expected release date. The update, based on Android 15, is now available to users across multiple regions including India. This new software brings a range of updates and features. The company has shared the changelog on its community page, so here is a quick look at the list of updates that users are getting with the new OxygenOS 15 version.
One of the standout changes with OxygenOS 15 is a redesigned user interface. The home screen gets a fresh look with updated iconography and a more seamless design, giving users a sense of visual continuity. The new "flux" themes offer customisation options that allow users to personalise their devices with system wallpapers or even their own photos.
The lock screen and always-on display have also been given more customisation features. Users can now tweak clock designs, apply AI-powered depth effects, and blend colours for a more personalised experience. Additionally, glass textures and blurred wallpapers add a modern aesthetic to both the home and lock screens.
On the performance front, OnePlus has integrated advanced parallel processing within the system's graphics engine. This is said to improve the rendering of animations, especially while multitasking or running resource-heavy apps. Moreover, OxygenOS 15 introduces smoother transitions in third-party apps and system-wide gestures.
The update also brings improvements to photo editing. OnePlus 12 users can now enjoy globally reversible edits, meaning previous edits are saved for future modifications. Other improvements include updates to the Fluid Cloud, which now supports real-time syncing with apps like Spotify, Swiggy, and Zomato, providing more seamless interactions.
OxygenOS 15 also expands gesture control with new options in the floating window. Users can swipe down on the notification bar to open a status window, swipe again to enlarge it, or swipe sideways to hide it. The split-screen mode has also been improved, allowing users to resize windows by dragging dividers or tapping to enlarge them.
The update further introduces a battery protection feature, which prevents overcharging and helps maintain battery health. Additionally, the new Holo Audio feature improves call quality, and users now have a categorised view in the Private Space section. Hidden apps can be quickly accessed via a new home screen shortcut, and the multi-network experience has been optimized for smoother transitions between networks.
