The trailer is finally out for the highly-anticipated second season of The Last of Us ahead of its premiere sometime in 2025. Originally a survival game set in the post-apocalyptic US, HBO adapted the game into a show, with the first season premiering in early 2023.

The new season takes place five years after the first with the trailer previewing a seemingly serene community where the two have found refuge. Soundtracked to Pearl Jam’s “Future Days,” the infected storm the community, however, they’re once again forced on the run.

“After five years of peace following the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie’s collective past catches up to them, drawing them into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind,” HBO says.

Joining the cast Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Young Mazino, Ariela Barer, Tati Gabrielle, Spencer Lord, Danny Ramirez and Jeffrey Wright. Catherine O’Hara also guest stars.
