Out of 22 stations in the city, nine stations recorded AQI in the ‘poor’ category. Colaba in Navy Nagar recorded the worst AQI of 305, followed by Sewri (284), Kandivali (252), Malad (West) (232), Mindspace (223), Byculla (224), Kherwadi (Bandra East) (220), Deonar (203), and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) (202).
Meanwhile, three men sustained injuries after jumping from the second floor of a building in Girgaon, South Mumbai, to escape a fire that erupted in their flat early Friday morning. The incident occurred around 3:20 AM at the Oceanic building located in Hemraj Wadi, Chira Bazar. The fire was triggered by an electrical short circuit, news agency PTI reported. The injured were taken to Nair Hospital. The victims sustained minor injuries and have been discharged, stated the civic body.
Assembly elections: A total of 10,905 nomination papers across 288 assembly constituencies were filed for the upcoming Assembly elections, the Chief Electoral Officer’s office stated. Out of the total nominations, 921 had their papers deemed invalid and papers of 7,994 candidates have been validated following scrutiny by election officials. Candidates have until November 4 to withdraw their nominations.

Mumbai News Live Updates: 3 men jump from second-floor Mumbai flat to escape fire, injured
Three men were injured in South Mumbai’s Chira Bazaar early on Friday after they jumped out of their second-floor apartment to escape a fire.
The incident was reported at 3.24 am inside the three-storey Oceanic Building, situated along B J Marg near Thakur Dwar. The injured have been identified as Kartik Majhi, 24, Uppal Mandal, 26, and Deependra Mandal, 19.
According to preliminary information from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), a fire broke out on the second floor of the building. While the cause of the fire is yet to be determined, sources said an electrical short circuit was a possible factor.
Following their escape, the men were taken to the civic-run Nair hospital. Speaking to The Indian Express, a BMC official said the victims had sustained minor injuries and were discharged from the hospital. No other injuries were reported in the fire, the official added.
