Delhi News Live Updates: Slamming Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said there is no democracy in Delhi, but LG ‘raaj’. “People in other states have rights to choose their government but Delhi people do not have the power to choose their government,” Kejriwal said. Further referring to the appointment of Civil Defence Volunteers (CDVs) as marshals aboard public buses and supply of essentials, Kejriwal asked if Saxena has the power to remove bus marshals, stop medicine and free electricity supply.

A day after Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir exit poll results were announced, AAP national convenor said the BJP will be ousted from the state and the Union Territory.  Slamming the saffron party’s double-engine governments in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Manipur Kejriwal asked what they have done for people adding that Manipur has been burning for the last one year. He made the remarks during ‘Janta ki Adalat’ at Chattarsal Stadium on Sunday. Delhi CM Atishi and senior AAP leaders including Saurabh Bharadwaj, Sanjay Singh, Gopal Rai, Dilip Pandey are present at the venue.

Meanwhile, the issue of aboard public-run buses in Delhi snowballed into a row on Saturday with Delhi Minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj prostrating himself at BJP Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta’s feet. Gupta has accused AAP MLAs of misbehaving with him. The appointment of CDV has gained spotlight after several months of protests.

Delhi News Live Updates: Climate activist Sonam Wangchuk denied permission to fast at Jantar Mantar, seeks alternate venues

After being denied permission to fast at Jantar Mantar to demand Sixth Schedule status for Ladakh , climate activist Sonam Wangchuk on Sunday sought alternative venues. "Another rejection, another frustration. Finally this morning we got this rejection letter for the officially designated place for protests," Wangchuk posted on X, sharing a copy of the letter sent by the Delhi Police rejecting his request to fast at Jantar Mantar. "If Jantar Mantar is not allowed, please tell us which place is allowed. We want to abide by all laws and still express our grievance in a peaceful way. Why is it so difficult to follow the path of Gandhi in his own country? There must be a way," Wangchuk added.

Rejecting the request, the Delhi police said that it was sent at a "very short notice". According to guidelines, applications for holding any demonstration at the Jantar Mantar must be sent at least 10 days prior to the event and be held strictly between 10 am and 5 pm, police said.
