Strictly fans fume as week four result leaks – but it's 'not what they were expecting'

BBC Strictly Come Dancing's most avid fans were fretting on Saturday night when the usual mole failed to leak the expected spoiler – but by the next day, the news was out

Strictly Come Dancing fans have all been left saying the same thing as the week four spoilers leaked – and they “weren’t expecting” the result.

Each week, a mole in the Strictly studios leaks the result to spoiler blog StrictlySpoiler.com, run by Dave Thorp. As the results show is recorded straight after Saturday’s live show, rather than being filmed live the day after, it tends to be accurate.

The show goes to extreme lengths to hide that the results show is filmed on the same day, with all stars undergoing an extensive costume change and referring to “yesterday” and “last night” throughout.

As usual, the blog warned viewers to send their “complaints to the BBC ” rather than to the spoiler blog – but after seeing who had to dance off and who was ditched from the show, they decided to vent their thoughts online instead.

One fan posted on X: “Just seen the Strictly spoiler and tbh was not expecting that. Seems unfair.” Another agreed: “I was about to be disappointed that there was no Strictly spoiler but then Dave came through!”

A third, however, said: “I agree with the result. The right couple was saved.” As somebody else echoed: “Right choice to go.”

It comes after the spoiler initially failed to leak on Saturday night (October 12), leaving fans concerned. Dave warned: “Just a heads up that it could be very late with the spoiler tonight or even tomorrow as no moles have come forward as yet.

“No moles never means no spoiler and I will post the spoiler as soon as I know so no need to bombard me with messages on the socials asking if I’ve heard yet!”

Reports have emerged that the BBC is attempting to crack down on the spoiler, with one source fuming: “Enough is enough, it isn't fair on the fans, they look forward to tuning in to see who will be dancing together."

Bottom of the leaderboard last night was Dr Punam Krishan and her partner Gorka Marquez, while DIY SOS star Nick Knowles came second to bottom with a score of 21. At the top, Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec scored an impressive 39 points, with Jamie Borthwick and Wynne Evans trailing slightly behind with 34.
