Real reason Kerry Katona has split with fiance Ryan - Toxic rows and 'free pass'

Kerry Katona has been left heartbroken after splitting with fiancé Ryan Mahoney after months of rows.

The couple began dating in 2018, and two years later, the fitness trainer popped the question as they celebrated the Atomic Kitten singer’s 40th birthday. Kerry, who is mum to five kids - Molly, Lilly, Heidi, Max, and DJ - even made plans to tie the knot with Ryan in Las Vegas, but that was called off at the last minute.

She stunned fans when she revealed this week that the relationship was now over, and confirmed the news in a cryptic post on Instagram while in hospital with her mum Sue. Kerry’s beloved mother was rushed to hospital after blood clots were found in her lungs, and she gave fans an update on Sue’s health - while also announcing she was no longer with Ryan. In the comments on the post, one fan asked: “So much love to you both, and is the Dr single?” as Kerry replied: “No, but I am!”

Back in July, the reality star revealed she and Ryan had called off their plans to wed in Las Vegas, and remained quiet on her love life in recent months, sparking rumours that they had parted ways. Speaking to OK! magazine, Kerry said the wedding was postponed after her eldest children Lilly-Sue and Molly - who she shares with ex-husband Brian McFadden - wanted to be there to see her mum walk down the aisle.

“Ryan and I were looking to go to Vegas to finally get married but Molly and Lilly said, 'Don’t you dare do that without us'. I told them they’d already been at too many of my weddings!” she joked. “That put those plans on the backburner.” But their relationship was already strained following months of rows, and Kerry shockingly revealed she felt “unsupported” by her fiance when she had surgery on her nose.

Years of drug use had left Kerry’s nose at the risk of collapse, and she underwent an operation that saw surgeons use a piece of rib to rebuild it. Writing in her column for new! magazine, the former singer said she moved in with her mum Sue, who was suffering from ill health herself, because Ryan wouldn’t look after her. “If I’m honest, I’ve felt more lonely than ever during my recovery. Ryan was away getting a tattoo in London when I went into hospital and I haven’t seen him since my surgery over a week ago,” she wrote.

“That upset me, because it made me feel unsupported and I could have done with the emotional support. I’m always the 'strong mum' in our house and this week I really wanted to be looked after and have him here, but I had my mum instead,” Kerry sadly shared.

In February Kerry said her dream of having a longed for sixth baby was over and admitted she had given Ryan 'a free pass' to have a baby with another woman. Kerry explained: 'I don't want to deprive him in fact, I've given him a pass and said, 'If this is something you want to pursue, leave me now!' I never want someone to not have that feeling of having their own child. But I feel like I should be enough for a man."
