Conor McGregor gives X-rated verdict on Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight rules
Conor McGregor gave an explicit-filled response on his thoughts regarding the rules of Mike Tyson's long-awaited bout against Jake Paul
by Fasika Zelealem · Irish MirrorConor McGregor bluntly admitted he doesn't give a "b******s" about Mike Tyson 's controversial boxing fight against Jake Paul.
The Irishman, 36, was in a lively mood on Friday night when he hosted a livestream with Duelbits - an online sports betting company - as he hit out at Tyson and Paul ahead of their November 15 boxing showdown.
The fight has been widely criticised given the 30-year age gap between the rivals with Tyson returning to the ring at the age of 58. And McGregor has hit out at the rules for the fight which will see Tyson and Paul meet over two-minute rounds and wear heavier 14oz gloves.
The fight will go on the combatants’ professional records but during a wild live stream on Friday night, McGregor said: “Mike Tyson, this is your stock. I don’t give a b*****s.
“They’re wearing 14oz gloves and it’s two-minute rounds. Who gives a b******s?"
With the fight being hosted at AT&T Stadium - the home of NFL franchise Dallas Cowboys - an arena that seats over 100,000 people with standing room, the MMA legend questioned how the fight is taking place there.
The former two-time UFC champion added: "I hope Mike rattles the little dope, no one gives a f*** about him. How is that even in the f***ing Dallas stadium?"
The fight was set to occur on July 20 but was postponed after Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up aboard a plane. McGregor - who is set to return to the UFC in 2025 after what would be a four-year absence - said the former heavyweight champion is in "great" shape after his health issue.
"You had a little health scare, I don’t know what happened to you on the plane but you look great now mate, you look great now for real so off you go, you love to see it," he said during the livestream.
The Dublin native also discussed his own fighting career on the stream and revealed that talks had been held over a two-fight deal with undefeated boxer Terence Crawford.
According to McGregor, one fight would be in the octagon with the second coming in the squared circle but claimed Crawford wasn't keen to take a kick from the mixed martial artist.
"Crawford is very slick. He also has a wrestling pedigree," he told Duelbits. "You know, they are always talking to me about belts, I've already boxed a boxer. The boxer in MMA is me.
"We're talking back and forth like a two-fight deal, he rings up Crawford in front of me. I said 'Crawford they're talking here about you and me two fight deal, MMA first, boxing second'. I said 'I know you've got an extensive background and balls the size of a Bengali tiger. They're asking for a fight.
"It's going to be hundreds of millions on the line what's up?' And he goes 'I don't want to take a kick off Conor McGregor ' - so you've got to respect that."
McGregor is expected to return to the octagon next year after recovering from a broken toe earlier this summer that forced him to withdraw from his fight against Michael Chandler.
