BBC Strictly Come Dancing star suffers painful head injury during group dance
A popular Strictly Come Dancing professional suffered a painful injury after he was seen hitting his head on a glitterball on Saturday's Strictly Come Dancing
by Jamie RobertsSenior Showbiz and TV Reporter, Carly Duffy · Irish MirrorStrictly Come Dancing professional Kai Widdrington may not have a celebrity partner this year, but he's still very much part of the show.
The pro dancers who don't get paired up usually still feature in the programme and participate in all group dances, and it seems Kai was just as thrilled as if he had a partner. However, his excitement got the better of him, resulting in a minor injury - a knock on the head - that most viewers probably missed.
It wasn't until hours later, when Kai rewatched the episode the next day, that he noticed the mishap, playfully asking his followers "Anyone see?"

He posted a video on his Instagram showing the audience cheering as he enthusiastically jumped in the air, reports the Express. But amidst the excitement, Kai accidentally hit his head on the glitterball and could be seen rubbing it afterwards while someone nearby checked on him.
Despite the incident, he appeared to be in good spirits, continuing to smile as the contestants' and audience's excitement filled the room. Kai later took to Instagram to write: "Anyone else see mr smash my head on a glitterball behind @paulmersonofficial [laughing emoji]."
Fans were left disappointed when it was announced that Kai wouldn't have a celebrity partner this year. He previously graced the stage with Angela Rippon, and their outstanding performances made them a hot topic on the show. However, this year he's joined the ranks of other fan favourites as a professional, rather than a dancer.
Lauren Oakley and Carlos Gu also found themselves partnerless this year, but viewers will still catch a glimpse of them every week.
The show has been hit with a fresh fix row after week two of the show this weekend. Fans were left furious on Saturday night after claiming former Love Island star Tasha Ghouri had been given an 'unfair' advantage on the BBC series.
The blonde beauty, 26, rocketed to the near top of the leaderboard with partner Aljaz Skorjanec, after they dazzled with a cha cha to Sabrina Carpenter's summer anthem Espresso. Tallying an impressive 30 points, they levelled with Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola.
But some fans have been criticising Tasha's past, pointing out she has had dance training previously. Prior to rising to fame thanks to her stint on ITV reality show Love Island, Tasha worked as a model and dancer. She practiced ballet from the age of three and later went on to train in commercial street-style dancing.
