Ben Affleck gave a simple, direct three-word response when asked about Jennifer Lopez 's role in their film Unstoppable.

The 52-year-old actor discussed Jennifer's role in the movie, which is about the life of wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and won a national championship while competing at Arizona State University in 2011. Ben, who is a producer on the movie alongside his long-time friend and filmmaking partner Matt Damon, spoke proudly of the film and said the team "believed in the right people."

In Unstoppable, Jennifer plays Anthony's mother, Judy, and she previously said on Instagram that representing "her and her struggles and triumphs with her amazing son" was "one of the greatest honours" of her life. JLo admitted the movie is "at times difficult to watch" but it's also "inspiring, uplifting, exciting and emotional."

He added: "[Director] Billy Goldenberg and Jennifer [Lopez] and Don Cheadle and Jharrel [Jerome], and Bobby Cannavale, all were really passionate about this film." After the premiere in September, Jennifer spoke with pride of her role and urged everyone to watch the movie, saying it is "perfect" to see with families during the Christmas period. Sharing photos of herself and other members of the cast on Instagram, JLO wrote: "I can't wait for you guys to see this movie!!!! This is my favorite picture from what was one of the most magical nights I think I've ever had with a film. Besides playing Selena, playing the role of Judy Robles and bringing her and her struggles and triumphs with her amazing son, Anthony Robles to life, was one of the great honors of my life.

"These are the type of movies that the world needs right now more than ever. Inspiring, uplifting, exciting and emotional. At times difficult to watch but so real and so moving. It's a perfect family movie. It will have you cheering while you hold back the tears. It won’t be out until December 6 in theaters but it’ll be perfect for everyone to see with your families around Christmas. It is our gift to you to introduce the story of this inspiring UNSTOPPABLE family.

"Thank you to Billy Goldberg, Jharrel Jerome, Bobby Cannavale, Don Cheadle, and especially Judy Robles and Anthony Robles for making Unstoppable an unforgettable experience for me." Many fans praised JLo in the comment section as one wrote: "Say hello to the next Oscar winner." Another added: "Haven't seen the movie and I’m already emotional."

One more fan added: "It brings me to tears to finally see Jennifer Lopez getting the recognition she deserves in the industry, she has been a trailblazer breaking barriers and shattering stereotypes, paving the way for so many Latinos and Hispanics. While I'm writing this I'm crying JLo fought so hard for us Latinos just so we could be taken up seriously. Her perseverance and talent opened doors that 20 years ago were impossible for any of us, she redefined what means being a Latino in the industry!"

Ben's praise for Jennifer comes comes months after the the "Let's Get Loud" hitmaker filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split. The pair had rekindled their relationship in 2022 after ending their engagement in 2024. They got married in Las Vegas in July 2022 and also celebrated at a bigger ceremony in Georgia in August 2022.

In a recent chat with Interview Magazine, Jennifer acknowledged the pair's relationship but didn't mention Ben by name. She said: "I think my whole life I've just been trying to say I'm good enough, until where I am now, when I know. I'm giving myself credit. I'm telling that little girl that grew up in the Bronx, 'You've done really good for yourself.' I didn't do that for so many years.

"And now I think, with everything that's happened in my life and in my relationships and even in my career, it's like, give yourself a bit of comfort and love. We've been through a lot of things that nobody knows about, and you've persevered and you refuse to give up and to let it get you down."

She also said: "The work is figuring yourself out. It's looking back at the feelings underneath and the belief systems that we have about ourselves that make us make certain choices and create certain patterns in our life." And she continued: "But you have to be healthy. You have to be complete, if you want something that's more complete.

"You have to be good on your own. I thought I learned that, but I didn't. And then, this summer, I had to be like, 'I need to go off and be on my own. I want to prove to myself that I can do that.'"

Last week, Jennifer appeared on the campaign trail in Las Vegas, Nevada, to support Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of the US presidential election on November 5. She spoke proudly of her Puerto Rican heritage and criticised comments made at a Donald Trump rally during which the Caribbean island was described as a "floating island of garbage".

"I am Puerto Rican," she said, adding: "And yes I was born here and we are Americans. I am a mother, I am a sister I am an actor and an entertainer and I like Hollywood and things.. I like when the good guy or in this case the good girl wins. And with an understanding of our past and a faith in our future, I will be casting my ballot for Kamala Harris for president of the United States proudly."
