Alison Hammond has candidly shared her impressive 11-stone weight loss journey after making significant changes to her lifestyle.

The 49-year-old This Morning presenter confessed that a humiliating incident prompted her to take control of her weight. The Birmingham-born presenter has previously revealed she once weighed 28 stone. She now weighs in at 17 stone, thanks to a complete diet overhaul, cutting out sugar and incorporating new exercise routines such as boxing into her daily life.

Alison, who is currently presenting Channel 4's The Great British Bake Off once admitted she was "really dying" due to her weight and instantly made the decision to overhaul her life. Nowadays, Alison admits she's much happier with her figure and is often praised by fans for her stunning looks.

Alison disclosed that an embarrassing experience on a plane was the catalyst for her decision to shed the pounds. Speaking on This Morning, she said: "I was nearly 28 stone I'll be honest with you and that is morbidly obese. And I used to buy an extra seat because I didn't want to put anyone in a situation where I was touching them." She recalled a particular incident, stating: "I was made to feel uncomfortable on one occasion when I was so close to someone's seat and they asked to move but they ended up moving me into first class.

"It was embarrassing the whole thing and from that moment I just started buying two seats. I don't do it anymore because I've lost a bit of timber but not everyone can afford to do that." Alison also opened up about her personal battles with her size: "I was in a situation where I was morbidly obese. I had to lose weight because I was dying, I really was dying. People will still say I'm big but now I'm 17 stone rather than 28 stone and I'm comfortable with telling you my weight."

She previously opened up about her gastric band experience, frankly admitting: "It's actually quite a difficult thing. It just didn't work for me. I didn't like the feeling of it. You still feel hungry but you can't eat," reports Birmingham Live.
