Cardi B unleashes furious attack at Elon Musk amidst Kamala Harris 'puppet' row
by Daniel Bird, https://www.facebook.com/danielbirdwrites · Irish MirrorCardi B has found herself embroiled in a feud with billionaire Donald Trump supporter, Elon Musk.
It comes as Vice President Kamala Harris and the former The Apprentice star go head to head in a bid to win the White House on November 5. Both Trump and the Vice President have had a string of celebrities endorsing them in the run-up to the election later this week and it appears this has angered Musk.
The 53-year-old businessman accused the 32-year-old rapper of being "fed words" when she was giving a speech at the Democrat's rally at the Wisconsin State Fair Exposition Center on Friday (01.11.24) and had an awkward wait when her teleprompter broke. Elon reposted a video of Cardi at the rally to his micro-blogging site X and wrote: "Another puppet who can't even talk without being fed the words. The Kamala campaign has no authenticity or true empathy." WAP hitmaker Cardi swiftly defended herself and accused the Tesla boss of "knowing nothing" about the "American struggle".

She fumed: "I'm not a puppet Elon.. I'm a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their ass off to provide for me! I'm a product of welfare, I'm a product of section 8, I'm a product of poverty and I'm a product of what happens when the system is set up against you….But you don't know nothing about that. You don't know not one thing about the American struggle…. [sic]"
In a swipe at Elon, she added: "PS fix my algorithm." The musician's speech went on for around 10 minutes and she ended up reading from her smartphone. She began: "I've been waiting for this moment my whole life. I take seriously the call to show up, to speak out, and to share a message that’s been on my heart for a while now."
Cardi added: "Like Kamala Harris, I've been the underdog, underestimated, and had my success belittled. Women have to work ten times harder and still face questions about how we achieved success. I can’t stand a bully, but just like Kamala, I always stand up to one."
Before Kamala was in the race for presidency, Cardi had no plans to vote for Joe Biden or Donald Trump, but the former - who will become the first Black female president of the United States if she is successful in the November 5 election - "changed" her "mind completely." She explained: "I didn't have faith in any candidates until she joined and spoke the words I wanted to hear about the future of this country.
"I believe every word she says. She's passionate, compassionate, empathetic, and most importantly, she's realistic. Kamala recognises that this country is at risk, and that we need to strengthen our economy and address the rising cost of living." She then tore into Trump's lack of respect for women's rights and branded him a "hustler". She said: "Protection for women — especially regarding maternal and mental health care — is not about telling us what to do with our bodies. It's about supporting us and providing the care we need for our choices.
"People like Donald Trump don't believe women deserve rights. When those rights are threatened, he disappears. If his definition of protection means restricting our choices and ensuring our daughters have fewer rights than our mothers, then I don’t want it!"
Cardi continued: "Hustling women out of their rights is disgraceful. Hustling Americans out of their hard-earned money by selling Trump watches, Trump sneakers, Trump Bibles… do we really trust this man with our economy? A man who only cares about getting rich and cutting taxes for his billionaire friends. I don't even get a tax cut."
In a video shared on Kamala's official YouTube channel, Cardi said: "Y'all know, if I'm endorsing it, it's because I believe in it. So y'all better go and vote – please, we can't be messed up for the next four years. Please vote, please vote for our kids, and for you!"
The rapper is one of several entertainers speaking out in support of Kamala Harris. The likes of Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Taylor Swift have all voiced support for Harris and their hopes of her becoming the first female President of the United States. Speaking at a rally on October 15 in her hometown of Houston, Texas, Beyoncé said: "I'm not here as a celebrity. I'm not here as a politician. I'm here as a mother. Your freedom is your God-given right, your human right."
Previously, Taylor Swift announced there is only one President for her as she told her Instagram followers she will be "casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz." Swift said: "I'm voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades."
Hip-hop icon Eminem introduced President Obama at a rally for Kamala on October 22 in his hometown of Detroit. Meanwhile, Amber Rose has voiced her support for Donald Trump as he attempts to get back into the White House next week. She spoke at the 2024 Republican National Convention in Milwaukee and in May, 2024, she shared a snap of herself with Donald and his wife Melania on social media, alongside the caption: "Trump 2024."
Zachary Levi has also been vocal about his support for the businessman. He had previously backed former independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr but after his campaign was suspended, he got behind Trump. He said: "We are going to take back this country. We are going to make it great again ... Of the two choices that we have, and we only have two, President Trump is the man that can get us there."
Meanwhile, Olympian, reality star and philanthropist Caitlyn Jenner has always been vocal about supporting Trump. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, she shared a snap of her ballot paper. She said: "I voted. Even in 'blue' California. CA has far more Trump supporters than you’' imagine! No matter how blue you think your state is - VOTE!" Caitlyn later told an online follower: "Yea it is. As I've said for years, it was easier to come out as trans than a Trump supporter. I lost my TV career, endorsement deals, commercial deals, etc. lol it's insane."
