Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky, and Li’l Skateboard P to Co-Chair the Met Gala

Pharrell Williams continues to add jobs to his ever-growing résumé: producer, rapper, men’s creative director at Louis Vuitton, LEGO biopic subject, and now, two-time Met Gala co-chair. He, along with Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky, Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, and Anna Wintour are co-chairing the 2025 Met Gala, according to Vogue. Williams last co-hosted in 2017, when the theme was Rei Kawakubo, while the other men are all first-timers — though Rocky may get tips from his partner, Rihanna, the undisputed queen of the Met Gala. LeBron James will bring some courtside flair as an “honorary co-chair.”

This year’s Met Gala will accompany the Costume Institute’s exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.” It will explore Black male fashion through the lens of dandyism, inspired by the book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity, by Monica L. Miller. We’re most excited to see outfits from the women and genderqueer celebrities who draw on dandyism in their fashion already. Janelle Monáe, we expect great things.
