Strictly Come Dancing's Chris McCausland has opened up about the heartrending comment he shares with partner Dianne Buswell after each round of the competition.

Chris, who is the BBC show's first blind contestant, is now bookies' favourite to take home the Glitterball trophy. The comedian and Dianne have won over a multitude of fans due to their strong bond and daring routines.

However, the 47-year-old was initially unsure about participating in the show, doubting his ability to perform. Speaking to Heat magazine, when asked if he thought he would do well on the show, Chris responded: "No. Every time we get through I say to Dianne 'I got away with that, didn't I?'"

He added: "It's gone better than I thought it would, because I had no idea whether I'd be able to do it at all, which is partly my doubt and partly the fear of doing Strictly. That first episode, to say I was s******* my pants is an understatement."

Two weekends ago, Chris achieved his highest score so far with an emotional Waltz to You'll Never Walk Alone, a popular anthem in his hometown of Liverpool. This was followed by a Samba to the Bee Gees' classic Stayin' Alive for the Halloween special.

However, this routine received mixed reviews from the judges, earning three sevens and a five from Craig Revel Horwood. Despite winning over fans with his personality and dance skills, there are concerns about what could happen if Chris has a bad week, as reported by The Express, reports Birmingham Live.

One fan took to social media, saying: "I love Chris, not just his humour and comebacks but he is genuinely a great dancer, I think he'll make it all the way...the only issue is, if he's in a dance-off against say, Tasha, it's still judges vote how can they choose him over her?"

They continued: "The public would for sure, but the judges if they're going on technicality? ? I'd want him in there though 100% already deserves to be in the final in my eyes."

Another chimed in with: "If the public are voting for him so heavily Chris will never have to worry about a dance-off."
