A Place in the Sun's Laura Hamilton admits 'never again' after divorce

A Place in the Sun host Laura Hamilton has opened up about her recent divorce and admitted that she has struggled to see herself getting married again in the future

Laura Hamilton, the host of A Place in the Sun, has candidly discussed her recent divorce on her Mile Fly Club podcast as she chatted to Loose Women's Andrea McLean. Following her split from ex-husband Alex Goward last year, Laura revealed she faced criticism for her decision to end her marriage at her age.

She said: "I've had quite a bit of stick for the fact (getting divorced in her 40s) that well, you know, you're a 40-year-old woman, why would a 40-year-old woman leave a marriage?

"It must be someone's having an affair. Well, it's kind of actually, no, it's like I'm just not happy going on the destination that I want to be heading too right now in this relationship and I want too change my route, my path. I kind of felt like, that's enough, that's okay for that to be enough."

In conversation with Andrea about the Loose Women star's three marriages, Laura confessed she was uncertain about remarrying, stating: "I've got to be honest, I've done it once and I'm not sure I'd do it again."

The duo also agreed that none of their marriages were mistakes, given the 'beautiful children' born out of these relationships. Laura added: "I feel very much the same as that. 

"I was in a marriage, I've got two beautiful children and I wouldn't want anyone else to be their dad because if anyone else was their dad they wouldn't be who they are," reports the Liverpool Echo.

Laura has been a familiar face on A Place in the Sun since 2012, but she first gained recognition through her roles in children's television, with stints on Nickelodeon and CITV. She later moved on to other roles, including appearances on Dancing on Ice and more recently, This Morning.
