Strictly Come Dancing's Wynne Evans fears 'career will end' and has 'started preparing'

Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans admits that he has started stockpiling one item over fears his "career will end".

Speaking to PR expert Rich Leigh earlier this year, he said: "If you go into my cupboard, in there, there will be at least 50 tins of baked beans."

When probed further about his habit, he admitted that his decision to keep 50 tins of beans in his cupboard comes from a fear of his career being cut short, adding: "Because I'm frightened that it's going to end and at least I'll know I have lots of beans free."

And, the opera singer, made famous by iconic appearances in the Go Compare adverts, explained that he keeps the food to 'keep me going' in the event his career does end. "It's like my career is going to end, well I've got 50 tins of baked beans in the cupboard, that'll keep me going for a bit," he added.

"That's the mind of a freelancer I think, the mind of a worrier. It's hard to enjoy the moment. When I think of some of the stuff I've done, not in an arrogant way, like Phantom of the Opera, it's the 25th anniversary, going to millions of cinemas worldwide and one of the biggest selling DVD's of all time (and) I was so full of anxiety when I was doing it I hated every single living second of it. It was just like why can't I enjoy those moments."

After he took part in last week's Strictly alongside his dance partner, Katya Jones, the pair became wrapped up in controversy. He could be seen putting his hand around her waist, before she appeared to move it away. Since then, they have both said that it was an 'inside joke'.

And, as Katya took a seat alongside Fleur East on Strictly's adjacent show, It Takes Two, she attempted to quash any further speculation as she said she was neither 'uncomfortable or offended' by what had happened. She went on: "The idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is total nonsense, and those that have doubts, you guys have got it wrong. So hopefully this will be the end of it, and you just keep making me smile. I can't sit here watching this man being portrayed as someone he's not."

Hoping that the past weeks controversy is firmly a thing of the past, Wynne and Katya will be looking to impress judges on Saturday and progress to the next round.

Despite finding success as an opera singer, Wynne became a well known face on our tv screens for his iconic performances on the Go Compare adverts. More recently, he has been seen on Celebrity Master Chef and Strictly Come Dancing.
