When news broke that Liam Payne, the former One Direction star, tragically passed away at 31 following a fall from the third floor of an Argentinian hotel, the world was in shock.

Leading up to the incident, reports surfaced that the father-of-one had been behaving "erratically" while staying at Casa Sur Palmero, prompting hotel staff to make emergency calls for assistance.

Rocketing to fame at just 16 as part of one of the most adored boybands in the world, Liam quickly captured the hearts of countless young admirers.

During his initial rise to stardom on The X Factor, he encountered Danielle Peazer, a back-up dancer on the show. The two kindled a romance and dated for a spell amidst the whirlwind of One Direction's success, often finding themselves the target of fervent fan attention.

At one point during the relationship, Liam was compelled to address overzealous fans online, staunchly defending Danielle against trolls while expressing gratitude to the supportive ones, saying, "Thank you so much.. she often reads me nice things people say to her and it makes me smile, love you guys."

After two years, the couple parted ways, leaving Liam to openly share his sorrow: "I am really devastated by the breakup with Danielle," he confessed. "We had an amazing time together, but unfortunately sometimes things don't go as planned," reports the Mirror.

Danielle, an alumna of the English National Ballet School and now a prominent social media influencer, reconnected with Liam in 2022, nearly a decade after their break up. The duo were seen leaving Shoreditch's Nobu Hotel together and were also spotted at celebrity favourites Chiltern Firehouse and Annabel's.

However, the pair didn't last and Danielle found love with former Capital FM DJ Sonny Jay, the 2021 Dancing On Ice champion. The besotted dancer and model spoke warmly about her new beau last year, and some of her comments had people speculating if she was subtly taking a swipe at ex Liam.

"After years of mistreatment, I learned that the reason I'd accepted so little from guys is because I hadn't put in the work on myself to discover my boundaries, find my confidence and also know my worth," Danielle shared in an Instagram video. "Without even realising that I'd evolved, I met Sonny, and I didn't even need to express my morals, standards or desires in a relationship."

"He just gets it. He gets me, and I've never felt safety in a relationship like this. So much so, that I feel proud to share a private segment of my life with my online community, something I haven't done for years, if ever in this way."

In May this year, Sonny, 31, and Danielle, 36, revealed the arrival of their little girl. They had kept her pregnancy under wraps and celebs such as Little Mix's Perrie Edwards and singer Olly Murs, who both shot to fame on The X Factor, were swift to extend their well wishes.

Liam, a father to seven year old son Bear with Cheryl Cole, was last seen dating US model Kate Cassidy. The 25 year old left Argentina just days prior to her boyfriend's heartbreaking passing.
