Apple’s (AAPL) week of product announcements leading up its fiscal fourth-quarter earnings report continued on Wednesday with the launch of a new MacBook Pro powered by the company's M4 family of chips.

The latest MacBook Pro, like the recently released iPhone 16, is designed to support Apple Intelligence, the company said. Apple launched the first wave of Apple Intelligence capabilities on Monday with a free iOS update.

Up to 1.8 Times Faster Than MacBook Pro with M1 Chip

The 14-inch MacBook Pro is available starting at $1,599, with the 16‑inch version starting at $2,499. With the M4 chip installed, the new MacBook Pro is up to 1.8x faster than the 13-inch MacBook Pro with M1, Apple said. Higher-end versions of the computer come equipped with M4 Pro and M4 Max versions of the new, more powerful chip.

Apple unveiled an M4-equipped iMac with Apple Intelligence on Monday priced at $1,299. Deliveries of both MacBook Pro and iMac will begin on Nov. 8.

The new and refreshed products come as Apple prepares to release its latest quarterly earnings after the market closes on Thursday, with analysts watching for early signs of an AI-driven iPhone 16 upgrade cycle.

Apple stock fell 1.5% Wednesday. It's up almost 20% for the year, however.
