Egyptian president congratulates Donald Trump on U.S. presidential election win

CAIRO – 6 November 2024: Egyptian President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi congratulated Wednesday Donald Trump on his win in the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election. The chief of state posted on his social media accounts saying:

"I extend my congratulations to President-Elect Donald Trump, wishing him luck and success with fulfilling the interests of the American people. I look forward that, together, we would achieve and maintain peace and security in the region. That is in addition to consolidating the strategic ties between Egypt and the United States, as well as their peoples. The two countries have always set an example of collaboration, succeeding to fulfill their mutual interests, which we aspire to continue doing during the critical conditions the world is going through."

Trump has surged ahead with 267 of the 270 electoral votes required for a White House victory, while Kamal Harris has got 224 votes, as reported by the Associated Press.
