Governor Idris condoles Jigawa counterpart, residents over tanker explosion tragedy
by Adenle Ahmed Abiola · The Eagle OnlineKebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris has extended his heartfelt condolences to his Jigawa State counterpart, Alhaji Umar Namadi over the tanker explosion that claimed more than 100 lives.
It would be recalled that a petrol tanker went off in flames killing over 100 people with many others severely burnt.
Describing the incident as an unavoidable natural disaster with painful feelings, Governor Idris said the entire nation grief over the regrettable act destined by God.
The Jigawa State Governor, in a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris Zuru, admonished residents of the state to take solace in the fact that ‘Allah gives and he takes’.
According to him, the government and the entire people of Kebbi State have joined the people of Jigawa State and the entire nation in mourning the loss of lives at the time Nigeria needs their contribution to the development of the country.

He, however, advised the state and federal governments statutory regulatory agencies responsible for public awareness and enlightenment campaigns to intensify the campaign on the need for people to avoid involvement in uncoordinated rescue missions whenever accidents of such magnitude occurred.
Governor Idris prayed to Allah for the repose of the souls of the departed, and granted the bereaved family the courage to bear the great loss.
