PDP postpones NEC meeting, announces new date
by Ganiyu Mubarak · The Eagle OnlineThe Peoples Democratic Party has postponed its National Executive Committee earlier scheduled for October 24, 2024 and announced a new date.
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State disclosed this when he read a communique issued by the PDP Governors’ Forum.
The communique was issued at the end of the PDPGF enlarged meeting on Tuesday in Abuja.
Mohammed, who is the chairman of the forum, said that rising from the consultative meeting of the various organs of the party, the PDP resolved that the NEC meeting originally slated for October 24 has been rescheduled to November 28.
He said the postponement was to ensure that the party goes into the forthcoming Ondo State gubernatorial election of November 16 with the unity and strength demanded to unseat the All Progressives Congress-led government in the state.
Reiterating the need for unity in the face of efforts by detractors to divide the party, the meeting called on all members to shun divisive utterances.
