Annie Kilner's bid to divorce Kyle Walker marks an ugly new chapter

by · Mail Online

It has been the WAG war to end them all.

And now, ten months after Annie Kilner learned that her husband Kyle Walker had fathered a second child with Lauryn Goodman, it appears their marriage is over.

In a move that is said to have stunned the England and Manchester City defender, Ms Kilner served him divorce papers after instructing lawyers to begin proceedings to formally end their relationship which began when they were teenagers.

A source close to the pair told the Mail: ‘The end of the road now seems to have arrived.’

It is believed that 31-year-old Ms Kilner – who has four children with Walker – wants to fight for half his fortune, reputed to be £27 million.

It is claimed that Walker, 34, and Ms Kilner are no longer on speaking terms and he is also consulting lawyers.

He is said to have been ‘stunned’ when he got the papers, according to The Sun.

A source told them: ‘This is as much Annie flexing her muscles as it is anything else. She wants Kyle to know she’s not messing about. But if this is a bluff, it may well backfire.’

The sorry sequence of events, that has culminated into one of football’s biggest- ever scandals, began in 2019 when, while on a break from Ms Kilner, Walker got Ms Goodman pregnant with her son, Kairo.

He and Ms Kilner got back together shortly afterwards and married in secret in 2021.

But in the winter of 2022, after another brief fling, Ms Goodman was once again pregnant with Walker’s baby and the following summer, a girl called Kinara – who is Kyle’s only daughter – was born.

On December 27 last year Ms Goodman messaged Ms Kilner – who was pregnant at the time with their fourth son – with a breezy bombshell, writing: ‘Hey it’s Lauryn I just wanted to quickly tell you that Kyle is the father of our daughter.’

Ms Kilner, who shares four sons with Walker – Roman, 11, Riaan, seven, Reign, five, and Rezon, six months – threw him out two weeks later.

Walker, apparently at Ms Kilner’s behest, then told his side of the story in a newspaper interview, profusely apologising to his childhood sweetheart who was pregnant with their fourth child at the time.

He described his relationship with Ms Goodman as involving ‘stupid choices’ and ‘mistakes’.

In turn, Ms Goodman was furious and hit back saying that his words were ‘unimaginably cruel’ to her children.

That prompted a very public and extraordinary row, which saw the Walkers hiring a PR to brief the media following the fallout.

Meanwhile, 250 miles away from the couple’s £4 million Cheshire mansion, friends of Sussex-based Lauryn, 33, say that she ‘will be planning a party’ at the news that Walker is now all set to become a single man.

The final straw that made Annie Kilner file for divorce from Kyle Walker

They say that she has refused to let go of him after enjoying two flings with him – the outcome of which was her four-year-old son Kairo and daughter Kinara, one. ‘Lauryn will be wanting to throw a party at this news,’ says one.

‘She is literally obsessed with him and has always held out hope they will end up together. She is one step closer,’ a friend says.

‘She has been waiting patiently to see if they would stay together and now things have got really bad between them she will, of course, be feeling like she is in with a chance. The feeling that those around her have is that she would love to be Mrs Walker.’

Lauryn is certainly giving it her best shot. She has hired Nicola McLean, the wife of former Birmingham City and Queens Park Rangers footballer Tom Williams, as her agent.

Nicola herself is no stranger to fame having starred on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity in 2008.

Sources say that she is hoping to bag Lauryn a TV role on Celebrity Big Brother. ‘Lauryn wants to be famous, and it’s as simple as that,’ says a friend.

‘She is determined to stay in the limelight and do right for her kids. It is unlikely Annie will stop hearing of her anytime soon.’
