Strictly Come Dancing fans accuse judges of 'over marking' one couple

Strictly Come Dancing could be caught up in another favouritism row with several viewers accusing the BBC of giving out special treatment to a celebrity pairing.

Wynne Evans and Katya Jones are starring on the current series of the hit dancing show and each week have consistently been awarded high scores, ranging from 30 - 34, with only their first week scoring slightly lower at 26.

The Welsh opera star, 52, and professional dancer, 35, took to the Strictly floor again on Saturday to take on The Salsa.

Craig remarked: 'I loved loved loved those lifts you're a born entertainer', whilst Motsi said Wynne was her 'sunshine' and added that she 'adored' him.

Dressed as red devils, the dance earned the duo an impressive 31 for Halloween week, with Motsi, Shirley and Anton each scoring them eights.

Despite the high praise and scores, some fans were left unimpressed, as they claimed Wynne and Katya had been over marked.

Strictly's Wynne Evans in further controversy as 'vulgar joke he made behind-the-scenes is leaked'

Some even accused him of 'having something in his contract' with others saying it depends on who the judges like, whilst one blasted it as an 'absolute joke.'

Taking to X they fumed: 'wynne is getting so blatantly overmarked each week and it’s doing my absolute head in. that dance was easily his worst dance yet in my opinion and yet he got three 8’s????? i’m genuinely baffled #strictly'

'Sorry but a 31 is a joke! Surely BBC favouritism at play at this point? What am I missing that is so good with Wynne? #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing'

'absolutely f**k off. both jb and wynne were massively massively overmarked. way way too much messing around and loosing all technical aspects. an absolute joke #strictly'

'Wynne well overmarked IMHO It was more 25 or 26 and definitely not a 31.... Judges have the people they like and they generally pick up an extra point per judge. Seems unfair to me but its not a dance show anymore....#StrictlySpoiler #strictly #scd'

'i'm sorry, but i'm really not seeing what the judges are seeing with wynne... he just had katya doing gymnastics on his shoulders for half the dance and even that didn't look flawless ...#Strictly'

'What the hell does Wynne have written into his contract? Over marked every time. #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing'

'What does Wynne have over the BBC? Overmarked and overhyped #Strictly'

It comes after Wynne found himself in further controversy this week after a 'vulgar' joke he reportedly made behind-the-scenes was 'leaked'.

The star who has recently been caught up in a 'wandering hand' incident, is reported to have quipped that his double chin resembled female genitalia as he got his make-up done backstage.

Insiders claim that Wynne made the unsavoury joke ahead of the BBC contest's glitzy launch show and was said in a private conversation with a make-up artist.

A source told The Mirror: 'It was a bit of a vulgar dad joke.'

The publication stated that at least one other person was in the room at the time, adding that the make-up artist was not offended by Wynne's joke.

Strictly returns on Sunday 27th October on BBC One and iPlayer.

All episodes are available to watch now via BBC iPlayer.
