Man vs Food star Adam Richman pauses filming after TV van 'robbed'

Man v Food star Adam Richman was yesterday forced to pause filming on his new series after thieves 'completely cleaned out' his production van.  

The food presenter, 50, was driving from Birmingham to London while filming series two of Adam Richman Eats Britain when he and his TV crew stopped at a Welcome Break service station on the M1.

He returned four-and-a-half minutes later after a quick toilet break to find all of their filming equipment gone, as well as Richman's suitcases, a backpack containing a laptop, medications and personal possessions, including the last birthday card his father gave him.

But the blundering crooks didn't realise some of his possessions had trackers which meant they left a trail of clues as to where the stolen goods were. 

Richman proceeded to publish live locations on his X account of where his worldly items were after becoming frustrated at having to wait for the police to arrive. 

He offered his followers a 'reward for anything found' and a 'larger reward for names and whereabouts of suspects'.

But he later rowed back on his offer and told people not to 'intervene' after the Met Police asked him to no longer provide updates.

He wrote on X: 'Well - the entire crew of season two of #AdamRichmanEatsBritain has just been robbed. 

'We were driving from Birmingham to London, stopped at a rest, stop in Barnet for exactly 4 1/2 minutes to use the restroom, and came back to our van completely cleaned out. 

'All of the filming equipment is gone. Both of my suitcases with all of my possessions are gone. Backpack with my laptop and all of my medications are gone. 

'And to make matters worse, because I have trackers on some of my possessions, and because of my laptop, I can see where these things are. But we have to wait here for the police. 

'The rest stop won't release the security footage until the police arrive. It's been almost an hour. I'm going to share a few of the locations where I can see my possessions. Reward for anything found.'

The live updates followed Richman's Apple Macbook Pro laptop from Cricklewood station to around Kilburn and South Hampstead.

He later said that CCTV showed that the suspect was wearing a grey hoodie and 'apparently had popped other vans in the area'. 

But Richman later warned people not to intervene after being contacted by Scotland Yard. 

He wrote: 'Everyone! Please do not attempt to personally intervene or find my items yourselves.

'I don't want any harm to come to anyone!'

The Met Police told MailOnline it is yet to make any arrests. 

A spokesperson for the force said: 'Police were called at 14:49hrs on Wednesday, 23 October following reports of a theft from a van at London Gateway Services on the M1.

'Items including cameras and laptops were stolen. Officers are continuing enquiries. No arrests have been made at this stage.

'Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or 'X' @MetCC and quote CAD4451/23OCT.'
