Real reason Coleen Rooney is 'doing I'm A Celeb is linked to Wayne'

by · Mail Online

Coleen Rooney has reportedly agreed to sign up to I'm A Celebrity because she now finally trusts her husband Wayne.

The WAG, 38, has been with the former footballer, also 38, since she was 16, and their relationship has faced a number of cheating allegations over the 22 years, with him previously apologising for visiting brothels and paying two prostitutes for a threesome.

However, Coleen allegedly now feels she has the confidence to jet off to Australia for the ITV show because she believes her husband can 'keep out of trouble' and has 'calmed down' since becoming head coach at Plymouth Argyle.

Coleen has been strongly rumoured to be entering the I'm A Celebrity jungle, with it being said that she's landed the 'biggest pay deal in show's history'.

A source told The Sun: 'He's grown up. He's definitely changed and Coleen totally trusts him. This is one of the reasons she's agreed to do the jungle.

'She knows she can go off and pursue her own work projects safe in the knowledge Wayne isn't going to blow up and do something daft again.'

The source went on to add that one of the most 'common factors' for 'incidents' in the past was Wayne going 'off the rails' because Coleen was away or Wayne was abroad, meaning was left to his 'own devices'.

The insider continued: 'It's naturally left Coleen a little bit scarred, but those fears and apprehensions no longer apply. Everyone around them has noted a total change in his behaviour in the last two or three years.'

They added that the couple, who tied the knot in 2008, are more 'loved up than ever', with Coleen believing that Wayne is 'focused' on a good husband, father and coach.

At present, Wayne already spends much time away from Coleen and their four sons due to his Devon-based job.

And though being in a long-distance relationship has it's difficulties, it is said that the separation between them has 'underlined' to Coleen how much her 'trust' for her husband of 16 years has grown.

MailOnline has contacted Coleen's representatives for comment.

Last year, Coleen revealed why she didn't leave her husband Wayne after he cheated on her and insisted her marriage is nobody's business but her own.

Coleen married former footballer Wayne in 2008 and their union has been at the centre of many scandals since, including Wayne being involved with other women.

However, Coleen - who appeared in Disney+ documentary Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story - insisted the public may not know the full story despite people's assumptions.

She claimed people 'think they know you' when in reality, only she and Wayne know the ins and outs of their relationship.

She told The Sunday Times that her husband is 'great' with their sons and is the 'best at bedtime'. The WAG also claimed there is still love in her relationship, adding: 'If there wasn't we wouldn't still be together.'

'I think if you're in the public eye, people look upon you and think they know you, but they don't actually. We know each other,' she told the newspaper. 'There's love there, and if there wasn't we wouldn't still be together. So I'm not stupid.'

She acknowledged that while people may tell her that they 'would have left him years ago', they do not know what occurs within her marriage.

She also admitted in another interview that keeping their marriage together has been 'a battle' at times, but insisted she's 'never backed away' from the challenges they've faced.

She told British Vogue: 'It's been a battle at times. I look at [any] situation we're in and think, ''Could we move forward from that? Is it worth moving forward from that?'' I don't just give up.'

She went onto joke that she's well-prepared to handle her husband's misbehaviour due to his previous infidelities.

'We've never backed away from it,' she continued.

'We own it. I remember having a conversation about this with someone and I said: ''Well, do you know what your wife gets up to every day and night? At least I know what my husband's doing!'' It mightn't be good, but I know. People lie to themselves.'

It comes as Coleen is understood to have been offered the biggest deal in the show's history, exceeding Nigel Farage's £1.5million from last year.

There are hopes Coleen will spill the beans on her epic fallout with Rebekah Vardy when she appears on the reality show.

Coleen is also thought to be getting the 'ultimate revenge' by signing up, with Rebekah booted out early in the 2017 series.

After the news broke of her reported jungle entry, Rebekah instructed her lawyers to be primed and ready to pounce on her in the event she reignites the bitter Wagatha feud.

While fans hope that Coleen will spill the beans on her epic fallout with Rebekah when she appears on the reality show, the WAG is not taking any chances according to The Sun

Rebekah is on high alert and is also keen to remind ITV bosses and the show's hosts, Ant and Dec that she owns the trademark to the phrase Wagatha Christie.

A source told the publication: 'Becky was absolutely agog to hear Coleen was doing I'm A Celeb and fears a whole new round of allegations about their Wag war.

'What's more, she knows Ant and Dec will make her the brunt of their jokes and be desperate to jump on the Wagatha Christie phrase.

'A very close eye will be kept on everything ITV air.'

She will also have full support from friend and football legend Ally McCoist in I'm A Celebrity as they're both set to appear in the jungle.

Ally, 62, was said to have cheered on Coleen, 38, during the Wagatha Christie trial with Rebekah Vardy - who was booted out early in the 2017 series.
