In February of last year, she had opened up about her sobriety which had been achieved by using the TikTok 'ancestors' trend.

On the topic of becoming sober, Madi told E! News last year in March that she took 'advice' from her older sister, Demi, over the years.

The former Disney channel star has been open about her mental health and past struggles with substance abuse.

'She obviously gives me a lot of great sister advice, but I think it's more powerful to see her in action,' De La Garza said of Lovato.

'I've started to share my personal story and I would have never, ever, ever done that if it wasn't for her. Her honesty, her bravery and being an open book, I think that is what drives me.'

During a separate interview with E! News last month, Demi had shared her excitement about becoming an aunt.

'I'm really excited to have new life come into our family. Family is very valued to me. I value family and friends over success any day,' the singer said.

Lovato added, 'But now that I am reflecting a lot, I'm able to say that family means so much to me and I'm excited to be an aunt.'
