A British electrician who had been missing in Tenerife for four days, has been found safe.

Kris Finney, from Ramsbottom in Greater Manchester, jetted off to the Canary Island last Thursday to meet up with friends.

The 31-year-old spoke to his mother to confirm he had landed but his phone was running out of battery.

He failed to meet up with friends in Tenerife as planned prompting calls to Spanish police and the Foreign Office.

But in a positive update this afternoon, Kris' family confirmed he has been found safe.

An FCDO spokesperson said earlier today: 'We are supporting the family of a British man reported missing in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.'
